    I am thin but I am also not in good shape.. I am physically weak, I am not flexible at all, and I have an extremely weak cardiovascular system. I feel that it is time for self improvement while I am still young but I need motivation in order to stick with it.     In this question I’ll give two choices, and I’m curious as to which prevails.
    In school, (I’m in College) what motivates you to keep going? Is it 1: Self improvement and awareness of life, or 2: want for a more financially successful future?

    So I’m curious of it’s more of a financial thing or more of an abstract, better yourself kind of thing.

    For me I’m not doing it for a more financially successful future, as I’m not concerned with money passed the point of having enough for the necessities.

    I have a Science degree but I find all the jobs Ive had (mostly labs), they lead to a autonomous, robot like, repeating of everyday work. Meaning: Setup the experiment and repeat the experiment. This is SO boring and I learn nothing about myself. I want to make improvements and grow as an individual. But I dont know what “type” of job to look for that will create that. Mostly self improvement to be a better person overall. Any ideas? Looking for as much views as possible on the subject. Good answers will get points. No negativity please.

    My girlfriend and I have been together for 9 months and we are planning on moving together at the end of this month. We have been doing great in the aspect of love and we are head over heels in love with each other. The problem is that she lives in Long Island and I live in the Bronx (an hour and a half distance). We both work a lot and rarely get to see each other. We speak to each other on the phone as much as possible and text/talk through AIM every second we can as well as camming.

    Being away from her spikes some anger issues particularly because I live with my homophobic mother who loves making my life a living hell and I already suffer from depression so I miss her a lot of the time and feel empty. We have been fighting a lot lately because of this. I want to change and this is where you guys come in! I need advice, anything that will help me to overcome this and to be a nicer person so that she and I can make it last. I’m already seeing a therapist. Any other tips?

    I always compare myself to my friends. And I always struggle to feel happy for them when something good happens, like they get a new job, get married etc. I don’t feel happy it just makes me feel envious/jealous because I am in a bad place right now. Please help me get over this, I hate being jealous all the time and I want to stop as it’s making me miserable. Any tips/advice?

    I used to have really high self esteem and I accepted myself completely. I think that as a result I was highly intune with my emotions and knew what music I enjoyed, knew what I enjoyed and all that kind of thing. I was also a really social person and was a great communicator. Until, I had a shock to my self-esteem and confidence and I began to just not care about anything whatsoever, so much that my emotion and natural feelings towards things just deteriorated. Between then and heavy marijuana use I feel less emotional although I’ve stopped smoking. I’m not sure whether high self-esteem is key to accepting yourself and having emotions and I’m just overall not sure where to begin in getting my old confident self back. I’ve researched self-esteem boosting activities, but I’m unsure whether it’ll take me in the right direction. I just want to feel, and feel good again.
